Screens will be how attendees engage with #SABCS20 as the Symposium goes virtual due to COVID-19.
Like so many symposia in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has led the Executive Committee of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium to move to a virtual event. Even though #SABCS20 won’t have the same “feel” as its predecessors, it will be live and feature the same interactive programming, spotlights, debates, lectures, posters, educational sessions and networking opportunities thousands have come to expect at SABCS.
“All components of the Symposium will be delivered as planned,” said Symposia Director Sharon Hill. “Having an interactive and virtual Symposium will allow us to present and discuss the latest developments in breast cancer research and practice to an international audience.”
The committee made the decision to make the Symposium virtual out of concern for the health, safety and security of all attendees, and the patients and communities they serve. The content promises to be robust however with more than 1,300 abstracts submitted for consideration.
Dates for #SABCS20 will remain the same, Dec. 8-12. Registration for virtual #SABCS20 has been reduced. Details regarding refunds for hotel bookings and those who paid for the Symposium can be found at sabcs.org.
