Symposium Information

  1. Who should attend the Symposium?
    This Symposium is designed to provide state-of-the-art information on the experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer and premalignant disease, to an international audience of academic and private physicians and researchers. The Symposium provides a forum for interaction, communication, and education for a broad spectrum of researchers, health professionals, patient advocates and others with a special interest in breast cancer.

Program Schedule

  1. When can I view the full daily schedule on-line?
    The detailed program schedule will be available in early September.   The Preliminary Program is available April 15, 2021.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
  2. Have there been any future dates selected at this time?
    Future Dates are as follows:
    • December 6-10, 2022
    • December 5-9, 2023
    • December 10-14, 2024

Registration

  1. What is your cancellation policy?
    Cancellations must be received in writing prior to November 17, 2021 and are subject to the following processing fees:

    $75 Regular Registration, AACR Member and UT Health San Antonio staff & faculty     
    $20 Resident or Postdoctoral Fellow, Student   
    Refunds will not be granted after November 17, 2021 nor will they be given for no-shows. Please email cancellations to sabcs@uthscsa.edu.

  2. What are the registration deadlines?
    Registration Opens April 15, 2021
    Discount deadline is October 31, 2021
    Pre-registration deadline is November 17, 2021
    Registration Cancellation Deadline is November 17, 2021
    Onsite registration opens December 6, 2021
  3. Day/partial registrations.
    There are no day/partial registrations.                                                                                 

Abstract Submission

  1. We invite you to submit your abstract for the 2021 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.  
                 
  2. What are the abstract submission deadlines?
    Abstract Submission Opens May 1, 2021
    Abstract Submission Deadline is July 9, 2021, 5:00 PM CT
    Abstract minor Correction Deadline is August 31, 2021
    Decision letters along with presentation instructions, will be emailed to the Presenter (the contact person/first author listed) late September/early October 2021. If you do not receive a notification, please contact sabcs@support.ctimeetingtech.com
     
  3. What is the size limit for an abstract?
    The size limit (including title, body, and tables) is 3400 characters - this does not include spaces.
                                                                                                       
                                                              
  4. How many abstracts can an author submit?
    There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author can submit.
                                                                                                                                                                                 
  5. How many authors can be listed on an abstract?
    There is no limit to the number of authors.
  6. How many abstracts can an author present?
     
    Authors are limited to one oral presentation at SABCS. Authors may present more than one poster presentations.                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  7. How can I make corrections after submitting my abstract?
    The submitting author may log back into the submission site and update the abstract for no fee until the submission deadline, July 9, 2021.  Abstract content or author revision requests received after this date will not be made. The deadline for minor revisions such as spelling and minor corrections is August 31, 2021. Minor revisions include:
    Spelling errors in body, author's name, words in tables and titles
    Disclosure changes
    Change and/or reorder presenting author

    Note: You will be charged $25 for each revision after the July 9, 2021 deadline. Send change requests to sabcs@support.ctimeetingtech.com you must include your abstract file number with your request.


Housing Instructions

Orchid.Events is the official housing for the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

Housing opens April 15, 2021.


Food & Beverage

Onsite attendees will receive continental breakfast and beverages, free of charge.

  1. Can I view abstracts, posters, slides and webcasts from prior San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®?
    Yes, SABCS® posts abstracts, posters, slides and webcasts from prior SABCS® for 3 years. They are available for viewing at Past Meetings Page.                                                                               
  2. When can I view abstracts, posters, and slides from this year's San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium?
    Attendees will be able to view online, searchable versions from this year's SABCS abstracts, slides and posters during the symposium if permission from the author has been received. Registrants will receive their login and password with their credentials. Those not attending SABCS will be able to view online, searchable versions from this year's SABCS abstracts, slides and posters March 2022.

About SABCS

  1. I attended the a past symposium and didn't receive my certificate. Who do I contact regarding Continuing Medical Education?
    Please contact the Continuing Medical Education office if you have any questions regarding CME or your certificate at cme@uthscsa.edu or 210-567-4491. 
        
  2. Does SABCS offer Continuing Education Credits?

    The Joe & Teresa Lozano Long San Antonio School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM
     

Scholarships

  1. Does SABCS® have financial assistance to attend the Symposium for Patient Advocates?
    Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation provides scholarships for eligible breast cancer advocates to attend the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®, and take part in Mentor Sessions.

    All applications for financial assistance must be submitted by 10 PM CST by August 31, 2021.

  2. Can I get financial assistance to attend the Symposium?

    Yes, there are several opportunities available for financial assistance in the form of scholarships. The purpose of these scholarships is to promote the education and professional development of early-career scientists who are actively pursuing research in breast cancer by encouraging and facilitating their attendance at the 2021 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. Scholarships will be awarded to graduate students, medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and physicians-in-training whose abstracts are accepted for presentation at the 2021 SABCS, based upon the quality of their abstracts.


    Recipients of these scholarships will be identified in the SABCS program, both print and online, and also at the meeting.


    Scholarship application is part of the Abstract Submission process. Further information is available on the 2021 Overview page on our website www.sabcs.org.
