Education and accessibility are key to the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium’s mission of sharing new information regarding the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of premalignant breast cancer and breast disease. To ensure access for all, SABCS® provides free access to all shared information and educational resources from the Symposium.

This week, SABCS posted the 2018 online resource library. Information available from the 2018 Symposium includes free access to downloadable PDFs of slide presentations, posters and abstracts, SABCS newsletters, and SABCS On Demand, which allows advanced search capabilities on slides and webcasts.

Dr. Ishwaria Subbiah, assistant professor in the Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation & Integrative Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, was not able to attend this year’s Symposium. She looks to the SABCS online resource library to catch up on research she missed.

"A major part of my supportive care clinical practice is comprehensive symptom management in patients actively receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy," said Dr. Subbiah. "It's very important for me to stay up to date with all available data from the clinical trials with a particular emphasis on therapy-related toxicities. Being physically present at a meeting is ideal but the next best option is to have access to these comprehensive meeting proceedings."

SABCS has grown into a five-day program attended by an international audience of close to 8,000 academic and private researchers and physicians annually. Without the collaboration of patient advocates and medical specialists from more than 80 countries, the progress toward the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer would not be possible. The SABCS online resource library also provides free access to historical information presented at SABCS through the years.
